Come & Join Hope for the Hungry in Haiti
Early in 1983 a cry for help came from a pastor in the little village of Guibert, Haiti. The pastor had just taken 18 children into an old, hastily repaired building on his church’s compound. When the children arrived at the home they all suffered from various stages of malnutrition; 2 were near death. Most of them were plagued with internal parasites. The first year’s work consisted of providing adequate nutrition and shelter for the children while sharing Jesus Christ with each one. Those children are now doctors, nurses, police officers, teachers, business owners, and followers of Jesus. Additional involvement in Haiti occurred in the construction of a medical clinic in the village of Ferrier in 1985 and the subsequent construction of the Spirit of Hope Children’s Home in 1987.
Now almost 30 years later, God has continued to expand the ministry and grow His kingdom. In addition to the 2 Children’s Homes we support 4 primary schools and a Feeding Program. We have been heavily involved in construction since the earthquake of 2010, providing 40 new homes to earthquake victims and are working to complete a new Mission Center in Guibert.
Thank you for your interest in what God is doing in Haiti through Hope for the Hungry. We look forward to working

FORTY DAYS OF PREPARATION FOR A SHORT TERM MISSION A Daily Devotional by Jack Hempfling
Before You Go is a great tool for preparing a team going on a mission trip. Whether the group has been on a trip before or this is their first time it is good to go over the best practices this book presents. We normally do 3 meetings with the group going on the trip, in addition to the meetings I have them do the daily devotions from this book. In our meetings we cover the same topics as the book but having people look at the topics day by day and examining scripture with a principle each day just helps people get it. Thank you Jack for all the work you put in with this book. I highly recommend it. Even though the devotions on returning home after the trip are brief they are full of meat and well spoken.
